Description
A good quality silver Counter Box, English c.1640 -1660; unmarked; there is a contemporary armorial to the top of the lid, and later initials, probably 18th century, engraved on the bottom of the base; the lid attaches to the base by means of a ‘bayonet’ fitting; the piece is 3.1 cms in diameter, 4.5 cms tall, and weighs 1 oz approx.
