Description
An early English silver Plate from the reign of James I, of simple plain form; fully marked for London 1617; the maker AM is recorded in Brigadier D W Jackson’s ’Antique Altar Plate in the County of Buckingham’, p.14, as having in the same year made the communion plate for the village of Penn, Nr High Wycombe. The diameter is 24.5 cms and the weight is 13.5 ozs approx.
