A ruby glass bowl with silver gilt mounts c.1690; marked underneath for Augsburg 1689-1692; maker’s mark for Matthaus II Baur; an exemplary example of its type; the piece measures 6 cms in diameter, 8.8 cms across the handles and is 2.8 cms tall.
