Description
A fine silver gilt Salt; Nuremberg c.1550 to 1570; of triangular shape with a foot at each corner decorated with a winged cherub; the central circular bowl has raised decorations around it consisting of a dog, a cat and a rabbit, each with a cherub head in between.
height of the piece is 2.2 cms; the length of each side is approx. 8 cms; the piece weighs approx. 3 ozs.
