Description
An exceptionally rare Elizabethan Provincial Communion Chalice; the domed base is surrounded by a stippled decoration and supports a knopped stem between two fluted edged disks; the tapering bowl with slightly flared rim is engraved with a band of arabesques; makers mark only ‘LS’ for Lawrence Stratford of Dorchester c. 1575.
This piece is approx. 6 inches high and weighs 5 1/2 oz.
